A Rainy Day…… “What to do????”
Well last night I glanced at the weather report and it was not looking promising, rain for most of the day and little to no sunshine predicted.
Thinking of places where I could run for cover if the weather decided to really try to put a dampener on my day I finally decided that I would head for Leeds Castle.
One of my favourite locations and it just burst’s into colour when all the leaves start to change. Making sure that everything was ready for this mornings outing, I packed the bag checking the basics, Memory – Check!….. Batteries – Check!….. Lenses Clean – Check!….. everything in the bag was in order so I set the alarm clock and headed off to bed. (Forgot the most important thing though!!!……… Guessed it yet……)
So this morning came and out I dashed for a wander round the woods at the end of the road, (to waste a couple of hours before the grounds at Leeds Castle opened) Well the wander out of the way I jumped back in the car and headed off to Leeds Castle.
Upon arriving at the gate to grounds I found the main entrance only half open and a bedraggled person in climbing gear waving down people and looking at a list… (Strange I thought….) I pulled up and opened the window only to find out that the grounds and Castle did not open until 10am……. I did a double take and looked at the car clock….. looked at my watch and was just about to correct the bedraggled young lady when the lightbulb in my head suddenly burst into life……. Yep I forgot the clock’s changed last night.
Being as my head was filled with feathers the night before I thought that would be my subject matter for the day…. a sort of feathered tribute to me ……Mr Stupid!!!!.
So todays offerings are a few feathered friends from the grounds of Leeds Castle, the wonderful colours will have to wait until another day.
On the Fence
Camera in hand is the only way to roam your local area, you can never tell what is going to be round the next corner and if you have to struggle with your bag to get the camera out you may miss the moment and what you were attempting to capture may be gone for good.
This little chap was in front of me as I emerged from an alley from the sea front at Whitstable quite happily watching the world pass by from his perch on a garden fence, I had time for two frames before he grew wary of being in the lime light.
Be prepared you never know what is waiting round the next corner……..
